Two people with deer on truck bed To maximize hunter satisfaction, manage wildlife consistent with the state’s habitat carrying capacity, and generate revenues for wildlife and fish services, it is essential to generate regular flow of information on hunting activities in Alabama. The current project, carried out, under contract with the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division, is an effort to this end. Based on a random sample of Alabama’s resident and non-resident licensed hunters, information is collected via mail survey with respect to the following: species harvested, number of days hunted, and harvest per day. The information generated will be used to draw implications with regards to trends in hunters’ participation and game harvest at the state level.
